Abstract

In present study, we propose a new material and an effective manufacturing process for motor oil-seals used in automobile windows. Previous oil-seals were manufacture by vulcanization process of rubbers for on supporter part of thermoplastic materials. The oil-seals with rubber materials are not reusable and did not exhibit precise dimensions in the product. To overcome these, insert injection molding with thermoplastic elastomer was introduced. The survey for suitable thermoplastic elastomers and development of moldbase for insert injection molding were carried out. Finally, we verified the dimension precision of the oil-seal products.
