Abstract

In this study, we optimized end milling processing conditions with Taguchi method for the lowest surface roughness of magnesium alloy. Spindle speed, feed rate, axial depth of cut, radial depth of cut of end milling were selected as processing conditions for the optimization. As the results of experiments, the level of roughness was dominantly affected by feed rate of end milling and the optimized conditions could be derived. This results can be useful in the fabrication fields of the light-weight mechanical components.
